The Dessert Place

Training in the Wilderness

Matthew 3:16-4:11
Luke 4:14

The dessert seasons in our lives can be used by God for...

-Refining time
-uprooting junk
-purging and cleaning
-to deepen our faith
-to build new mindsets
-to form new identities
-revelation of new strategies and/or ideas
-maturing to bring us to a place where God can use us more effectively in ministry
-to give us greater authority
-to learn to rely more deeply on God
-healing for wounds
-often a testing time of the true motives of our heart (we say we are hungry for God... Are we really?)
-to take us beyond where we have been.

During these times we can:

-a time we can either give up or embrace God's lessons
-keep track of all that God shows you
-thank Him for dreams, words, pictures and scriptures that are given for you.
-Hebrews 5:10-11
-praise God for His words and promises
-Thank Him and tell Him how much you are looking forward to them being fulfilled
-Fast - fasting is a tool (in Mark - this one only comes out by fasting and prayer)
-in the pits delcare what he has done in your past, His promises, who He is and what His word says.

Psalms 84:5

Often the devil shows up when we are at our weakest.
