Christmas

This Christmas season was busy.  Much to be thankful for. The changes in Brent and even in our children over the past few months are a miracle.  This next year is going to be a year of wondrous miracle's in our lives.

Christmas eve we went to the RMC Christmas eve service and then to Grandpa Hildebrandt's for night lunch.

Christmas morning Grandpa Hildebrandt came over and we opened gifts after we prayed together as a family and then we had pancakes for brunch.  We also visited Grandma Riekman in the nursing home before going to Saskatoon for 2 days.

Special verses from Deuteronomy

Deuteronomy 6:5-13
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength... Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.  Fear the Lord your God, serve Him only.

Deuteronomy 15:6
For the Lord your God will bless you as he promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.  You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

Deuteronomy 15:11
There will always be poor people in the land.  Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

Special Scriptures

Galations 5:16-26
:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.

2 Corinthians 5:5
He who has prepared us for his very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

2 Corinthians 5:13
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
(if we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God)

Proverbs 12:1
Whoever loves disipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is STUPID.

Ephesians 6:10-20
-belt of truth
-breastplate of righteousness
-feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace
-sheild of faith
-sword of the spirit, which is the word of God
-Pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests
-Be alert and keep praying

Php 3:12-21 (Pressing on)
(12)  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
(13)  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
(14)  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
(15)  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
(16)  Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
(17)  Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(18)  (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
(19)  Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
(20)  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
(21)  Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Php 4:11-13 (on being content)
(11)  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
(12)  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
(13)  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

1 Timothy 4:4
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is recieved with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the workd of God and prayer.

Revival Service at Rosthern Alliance

These are the notes I took at this service...

John - from Gains ville Georgia

2 Chronicles 25
Reformation

God deals with the heart
a perfect heart
a purified heart through Christ
a pure heart - where there is no Holy living there is no Holy Ghost.
a seeking heart
a pursuing heart
a purposeful heart

Losing interest in this world and competitors for your heart

The consequences of dividing affections:

A growing confidence in the flesh
-methods
-impulsive
-human methods etc.
-human strength

1.  How much time do you spend alone with God in secret prayer daily?  Average is 6 minutes

2.  How much time do you spend watching TV?  Average is 2.5 hours

God does nothing apart from prayer

Divided affections will result with open sin.

If you have secret idols in your heart they will result in open sin.

#1 sin for women is bitterness
#1 sin for men is sexual lust

A secret sin on earth is an open scandal in heaven

bitterness, hidden greed

Give according to your income before God gives income according to your giving.

A sign of a divided heart is not being teachable
-can't recieve correction
-can't take correction from kids, spouse or others.

A divided heart will make a man/woman to rely increasingly on human reasoning:
-people think
-people say
-what I think & want

A divided heart will result in prideful boasting around family and freinds.  Boasting is the language of pride.

God will not harm you unless you intentionally rebel.

A divided heart will bring :
-judgement of other people
-your sin will never just affect you.  It will affect other times.  Many times it will be your spouse and children that are affected by your sin.
-It will have an affect on your loved ones
