Lord touch my tongue - Bayless Conley
Proverbs 16:27
An ungodly man digs up evil; and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
Proverbs 18:20-21
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
James 3:2-4
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, where ever the pilot desires.
James 3:5-6
Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts of great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that id defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
Psalms 39:1-3
I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spoke I with my tongue.
Psalms 45:1
My heart overflows with a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made for the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every though to the obedience of Christ;
It starts with a thought (take captive)... turns into an argument (cast down)... turns into a stronghold (pull down)... a stronghold is a position from which the enemy can work... and then we speak!
Take every thought captive - if you don't thoughts grow into arguments- it starts to make sense to you - need to cast down an argument - if you don't cast down an argument it will grow into a stronghold and strongholds need to be torn down.
Faith in God's word - Ephesians 5:26

God Equips Us!
Exodus 35:30
God does not call us without equipping us to do it.
The Holy Spirit equips us with giftings
Seek God for wisdom that goes beyond natural wisdom and reasoning.
1 Corinthians 2:6-16
James 1:5-7
The boiler room - is the prayer room
Prayer builds the root system of every church and ministry - without prayer, when the winds blow and trials come the tree will topple over and die.
My house will be a house of prayer
The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much
Be sure to cover leadership, pastor, families, marriages, country, town and province in prayer regularly
Ask God to equip, ask Him for His plan, ideas, creativity, wisdom. Ask Him to remove hindrances and fear.
Listen to God
If I want to minister God's healing - I need to study healing and other healers
Whatever God calls us to do the question always is "Am I willing?"

The Dessert Place
Training in the Wilderness
Matthew 3:16-4:11
Luke 4:14
The dessert seasons in our lives can be used by God for...
-Refining time
-uprooting junk
-purging and cleaning
-to deepen our faith
-to build new mindsets
-to form new identities
-revelation of new strategies and/or ideas
-maturing to bring us to a place where God can use us more effectively in ministry
-to give us greater authority
-to learn to rely more deeply on God
-healing for wounds
-often a testing time of the true motives of our heart (we say we are hungry for God... Are we really?)
-to take us beyond where we have been.
During these times we can:
-a time we can either give up or embrace God's lessons
-keep track of all that God shows you
-thank Him for dreams, words, pictures and scriptures that are given for you.
-Hebrews 5:10-11
-praise God for His words and promises
-Thank Him and tell Him how much you are looking forward to them being fulfilled
-Fast - fasting is a tool (in Mark - this one only comes out by fasting and prayer)
-in the pits delcare what he has done in your past, His promises, who He is and what His word says.
Psalms 84:5
Often the devil shows up when we are at our weakest.

Intimacy
Psalm 63:1-8
In Genesis Adam and Eve talked and walked with God in the cool of the day. They recognized His footsteps. Moses talked with God face to face as a friend. Moses, Abraham and Lot all negotiated with God (they talked and God listened and took what they said into consideration)
Time with God enables us to take a stand and have confidence when we face our giants. God shares His secrets with His friends. What God reveals is for you and your children. We need to care for and cherish God's presence as we would care for a new born baby. Know God so well that we know who of the trinity is speaking (Father, Son or the Holy Spirit).
If we want to be intimate with God we need to learn to be still (Body, soul and spirit).
Hindrances:
-External distractions
-Internal chaos
-we need to be deliberate in removing all hindrances both external and internal.
It cannot be hurried or forced.
Consciously plan it, deliberately pursue it
Primary purpose of Scripture is to draw you into God's presence
-When things do do pop into your mind - write them down.
-When thoughts of sin pop into your mind - confess them, repent (decide to stop doing it) & take care of it)
-When your mind wanders - Focus on Jesus and the scriptures
- When you need to get in touch with your heart - start singing or listening to that song.
When the bride groom returns you want to be in a relationship where we only have eyes for each other.
With your words you can either bless or curse; agree with God or agree with the devil; speak life or speak death.

Transitions - Letting Go
Session 1 of our 2010 Ladies retreat
Are you willing to surrender to my way?
The cost is obedience...
Hinderances of stepping into God's will
1. Fear
- of the unknown (easier to stay put)
- Am I good enough for God's calling?
2. Lack of Trust
-is God adequate?
-Do I trust God in my heart with my life details?
3. Not believing that I am loved by God
-will I really trust God with it?
-I need to decide to give it to God
4. Sacrifice - the requirement of sacrifice
- what is the risk?
5. Inflexibility
- I need to be flexible to do it God's way
-am I really hungry? Am I really willing?
-am I really passionate?
-Do I really want God to add fuel to my fire?
6. Putting God in a box
-God is only getting started!
-He is beyond what we can ask, think, or imagine.
At the end of this first session I was left to answer the following questions... honestly
Am I willing to surrender to God's way?
What are my fears?
Am I good enough for God's calling?
Do I lack trust in God?
Do I trust God in the bottom of my heart?
Do I really know that God loves me?
Am I really ready to trust God with Everything?
What sacrifices will I have to make to do what God is asking of me?
Am I willing to make those sacrifices?
What are the risks?
Am I willing to take those risks?
Am I really hungry?
Am I really passionate?
Do I really want God to add fuel to my fire?
Am I really willing?
Don't put God in a box! He is only getting started and He will do more than I can ever ask, think or imagine!!
