Intimacy

Psalm 63:1-8

In Genesis Adam and Eve talked and walked with God in the cool of the day.  They recognized His footsteps.  Moses talked with God face to face as a friend.  Moses, Abraham and Lot all negotiated with God (they talked and God listened and took what they said into consideration)

Time with God enables us to take a stand and have confidence when we face our giants.  God shares His secrets with His friends.  What God reveals is for you and your children.  We need to care for and cherish God's presence as we would care for a new born baby.  Know God so well that we know who of the trinity is speaking (Father, Son or the Holy Spirit).

If we want to be intimate with God we need to learn to be still (Body, soul and spirit).

Hindrances:
-External distractions
-Internal chaos
-we need to be deliberate in removing all hindrances both external and internal.

It cannot be hurried or forced.

Consciously plan it, deliberately pursue it

Primary purpose of Scripture is to draw you into God's presence

-When things do do pop into your mind - write them down.
-When thoughts of sin pop into your mind - confess them, repent (decide to stop doing it) & take care of it)
-When your mind wanders - Focus on Jesus and the scriptures
- When you need to get in touch with your heart - start singing or listening to that song.

When the bride groom returns you want to be in a relationship where we only have eyes for each other.

With your words you can either bless or curse; agree with God or agree with the devil; speak life or speak death.
