Psalms 22:9-10

"It was you who brought me safely through birth, and when I was a baby you kept me safe. I have relied on you since the day I was born, and you have always been my God."

Psalm 102:18

"Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord."

The power of taking our needs before God first.

This is one thing that I have discovered over the past several years.  God is definately honored when we decide that we are going to go to him first with EVERYTHING!  As humans living in North America we have a tendency to be self relient most of the time.  In Canada we don't even have to pay for health care.  Would we think twice about relying on God for our day to day health if health care was not free or even available?

When I first started to really put these truths into practice it was about 2-3 years ago.  I had a run of infections and seemed to always be at the doctor & on antibiotics.  I was always tired and my lungs (which were very damaged from having breathed through a treacheotomy for 16 years) were very sore and always congested.

One day I was reading in Proverbs Chapter 4:20-22  "My son, attend to my words ; incline your ear to my sayings.  Let them not depart from your eyes;  keep them in the midst of your heart.  For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh."  God impressed upon my heart that His word would heal my body.  It didn't matter where I was reading in the Bible I just needed to remain in His word daily and make it priority in my life.

I began listening to sermons on healing and reading the Bible about 2 hours a day. God brought me through a time of forgivness & repentance.  My body began to heal and my energy returned.  God showed me how to resist sickness in my life.  Arthritis, endometriosis, fibrosis in my lungs, low blood pressure, constant low grade fevers, hormonal imbalance and infections all slowly but surely melted away.  Then it happened... I was on the phone with my friend Tereasa and in the middle of a sentence I spoke 2 audible words! (I have not spoken out loud audibly since I was 1 year old)

This makes it sound like I have it all figured out... well it is one thing to live under God's perfect will for a year but it is another thing to remain there.  It is so easy to get distracted by life.  Homeschooling, mothering, housework & being a wife all seem to get in the way and provide distractions.  I know that those 2 words were just a deposit and I will speak aloud permanently some day soon but I need to keep my eyes focused on my source of power and purpose to do so for the rest of my life.

I am so thankful for my friends who remind me when I get off track...

One day I didn't go to church because I had a huge headache... my friend Julie asked Brent where I was and she did not even bat an eye before coming over and praying with me... reminding me that God did give us authority over every sickness & disease and I did not need to accept the headache... I went to church pain free within a short while:-)

Recently there were a few times when I just did not feel like I had the strength to keep up the battle and rebuke sickness... my friend D J has prayed for me twice recently when I just lived with something (forgeting to rebuke it right away).  She is an awesome prayer warrior and believer in God's will and His power to heal.  Both times she prayed the sickness and pain immediately left.

I wish I would just get it right once and for all and not let anything sit in my body that causes pain or sickness.  I know from experience that God is my healer and my strength.  He has given believers all authority over every sickness and every disease so I don't have to live with so much as a sniffle anymore!  It was done at Calvary... "by his stripes we were healed!"

It is my goal to get to the place where everything... no matter how big or small in my life will be lifted up before the throne of God FIRST and then living in peace knowing that He has already taken care of it.

Did God Really Say??

"Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the LORD God had made. The snake asked the woman, "Did God really tell you not to eat fruit from any tree in the garden?""

How can we begin to answer the question that Satan repeats to us all the time? He really is not that smart. And more often that not we, as humans, respond the same way that Eve did...

I have come to realize that I need to be solidly grounded in God's truth in order to not get sucked into doubting what God has said or questioning what God has meant by it. As a Christian I have the Holy Spirit guiding my into all understanding, revelation and truth.

I was watching a video on redemption on http://www.osborn.org/ and simply put the root of all sin is doubt. That is where it all begins. It is wonderful when we can take a truth and simplify it. If something causes you to doubt the word of God or question what it means you can be sure that it has the stamp of satan's approval on it.

This revelation about being more solidly grounded in what the word of God REALLY says started about 6 years ago. I wanted to know what God's word said for myself instead of relying on hear say and rumours. The more I dug the more I found out how many suttle lies I had been sucked into. It is amazing how clear God's word is and how freeing it was when I choose to read it fresh and choose to take every word of it as truth.

This is still my goal... to discover God's truth... to answer the question that Satan asked in the garden "Did God really tell you not to...?" So I know without a doubt who I am following every minute of every day and am not decieved by the enemy!

The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob... WOW!

These were all men choosen by God.  At first glance or thought of these names I always seem to think that they were great righteous men and they always must have followed God in order to be choosen and favored by Him.  When you look again and read the book of Genesis like you would read a novel, as a whole, you get a different picture of these men.  They were men who were definately choosen by God not neccesarily men who choose God before He choose them.  I especially see this in Jacob's case.

Abram (later Abraham) was willing to follow God's instructions and believed in the promise that God had given to Abram in Genesis 12 at 75 years of age.  However he felt like he had to lie and get Sarai to lie in order to protect his life when they entered foreign lands twice even though he was in God's will going into these lands.  He had God's promise that he and his seed would posess that land yet he didn't rely fully on God to protect him as he went.  In Chapter 15 God said to Abram in a vision "Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward."  Then God goes on to expand on his promise to Abram.  Even after this promise that God would be Abram's protector he lie's again about Sarai being his sister to protect himself.

Then in Chapter 16 he gets impatient about the promise that God would give him many decendants and decides that he will have a child through his wife's handmaid instead of waiting for Sarai to have children.  This was not what God had intended.  I know that Sarah was past menopause but with God all things are possible and we can rely on God's word to us.

Abraham had the same tendency that I have... to take a promise from God and try to make it happen instead of letting God unfold it before me.

Even though Abraham did not fully rely on God to fulfill His promise's of protection, prosperity and to be a great nation of people, God did it anyways... Abraham's heart was in the right place.  He wanted to do God's will but was very impatient in the waiting part.

I want to learn from Abraham's mistakes and fully rely on God and his promises to me the way that God wants them to unfold in my life instead of making them happen in an inferior way... my way.
